Festival of Asian Arts

As Artistic Consultant I recommended overseas programs for the Festival of Asian Arts, which was presented every two years by the Urban Council, at that time Hong Kong's municipal government. The last one, the 17th, took place 23 October to 14 November 1998.

My basic guideline was that the festival should present forms of expression unique to the Asia region (east of Suez). This could include so-called 'Western' forms if given a unique local interpretation. Personally I am particularly interested in showing that training in Asian traditions can form a valid basis for contemporary expression.
