Setting up your Trumpet Winsock

For Windows 3.1 users using Trumpet Winsock for your Internet connection, please follow the instructions here.

  1. Download the set phone script and login scripts

    and save these script files into your Trumpet Winsock directory.

  2. Disable automatic login in Trumpet Winsock

    Start your Trumpet Winsock, select "Dialler" then "Options". Check the option "No automatic login" and click on the "Ok" button.

Checking the modem number and login script

Before you go on board, check for the modem number and login script required for the country/city you travel from the Worldwide Access Points Table. You may download a copy below and save it in your computer for reference.

                

How to use the roaming service?

Now you are ready to use your Trumpet Winsock for your Internet when you are overseas.

  1. Start your Trumpet Winsock

  2. Check the modem number on the Worldwide Access Points table for your location

  3. Select "Dialler" then "setphone.cmd" and enter the modem number

  4. Check for the corresponding login script in the reference column (Ref) of the table

    • For locations without reference, use script "roam.cmd" with PAP enabled
    • For locations with reference 1, use script "roam1.cmd" with PAP enabled
    • For locations with reference 2, use script "roam2.cmd" with PAP disabled
    • For locations with reference 3, use script "roam3.cmd" with PAP disabled
    • For locations with reference 4, use script "roam4.cmd" with PAP disabled
    • For locations with reference 5, use script "roam5.cmd" with PAP disabled
    • For locations with reference 6, use script "roam6.cmd" with PAP disabled
    • For locations with reference 7, use script "roam7.cmd" with PAP disabled

  5. Enable and disable PAP

    To enable PAP, select "File" then "PPP Options". Check the box "Use Password Authentication Protocol (PAP)" and enter your username (login_id@iohk.com) and password. Then click on "Ok".

    To disable PAP, select "File" then "PPP Options". Uncheck the box "Use Password Authentication Protocol (PAP)" and click on "Ok".

  6. Connect to the Internet

    Now you can make the connection by selecting the corresponding login script from the "Dialler" menu.

    • roam.cmd for locations with no reference
    • roam1.cmd for locations with reference 1
    • roam2.cmd for locations with reference 2
    • roam3.cmd for locations with reference 3
    • roam4.cmd for locations with reference 4
    • roam5.cmd for locations with reference 5
    • roam6.cmd for locations with reference 6
    • roam7.cmd for locations with reference 7
